OccDoc is a SEQOHS (Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service) accredited Occupational Health Provider that can deliver services compliant with evidence based Occupational Medicine, Health & Safety/Employment legislation and Industry standards.

Dr John Crowley

Dr Crowley has extensive Occupational Health experience, dealing with the largest multinationals and semi-states as well as a wide range of SME’s throughout Ireland. John studied in the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in the Royal College of Physicians in London, as well as in the Royal College of Physicians in Dublin.

His main areas of interest are in employee centred health promotion and disease prevention. His occupational health reports are clear and solution focused.

He is a teacher in the School of Medicine, University College Cork, having had similar roles while in the University of Melbourne.

Medical education, audit and continued improvement in OccDoc’s standards are the corner stones of Dr Crowley’s work.

John is a medical director in the Wellness Centre in Apple and is the clinical lead for Apple Family medical services in Ireland.

Engagement with H&S, HR Teams and employees is of the highest level with same-day reporting and transparent processes for all involved.

Dr. Sujil Jacob is a distinguished Consultant Occupational Health Physician with over a decade of experience in occupational medicine, healthcare management, and consultancy across diverse industries. 

Dr. Sujil Jacob specializes in fitness-for-duty evaluations, health surveillance programs, medico-legal assessments in Occupational Medicine, and regulatory compliance, establishing him as a reliable consultant for organizations in both the public and private sectors.

In addition to his clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Sujil Jacob serves as a board member and subject matter expert with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) Faculty of Occupational Medicine, playing a key role in shaping national occupational health policies, training programs, and professional guidelines. His active participation in influential committees, such as the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC), the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, and the RCPI Advisory Group on Smoking & E-Cigarettes, underscores his dedication to advancing occupational health standards.

Dr. Sujil Jacob is deeply committed to advocating for occupational health awareness. He actively leverages social media to educate, engage, and highlight the evolving role of occupational health professionals. By sharing insightful content and demonstrating thought leadership, he strives to enhance awareness of the vital responsibilities and significant impact of occupational health in today’s workplaces .

Dr. Sujil Jacob is also a author, with his highly anticipated book, ‘Irish Law for the Occupational Health Physician: A Practical Guide’ , set for publication. This essential resource is designed to bridge the gap between occupational medicine and Irish legal frameworks, providing practical guidance for occupational health professionals navigating complex medico-legal challenges.

Nursing

Kate Wall

Kate is an experienced nurse who has worked in both the hospital and community sectors.  While without doc, she has excelled in health surveillance nursing as well as health screening programmes. She plays a key role in our pre-employment consultation process and offers excellent clinical skills throughout.

Kate is a talented athlete and member of the Cork Senior Camogie team who are the reigning All-Ireland Camogie champions. She has been awarded numerous times for her player-of-the-match displays.

Caitriona Hayes 

Caitriona has worked in hospitals in the Cork region and in community-based medicine.  She excels in the offsite environments of industry where she delivers the highest standard of occupational health surveillance services on behalf OccDoc. She is a solution-focused practitioner who is adaptable throughout many industry types.

Hailing from the Kingdom of Kerry,  Caitriona loves the outdoors of her seaside home place.

Dr Sven Du Plessis

Dr Du Plessis is a highly experienced General Practitioner with a background in both the private and public healthcare sectors of South Africa and Ireland. On behalf of OccDoc, he manages all our partner’s urgent referrals that require immediate medical management.  He has extensive emergency medicine experience and delivers evidence-based, up-to-date management for all our business partner’s teams.

Dr Patrick Crowley

Dr Crowley has a vast level of experience as a general practitioner.  He has seen it all and managed it all! He is a practical and solution-focused general practitioner who’s gift is putting concerned patients at ease.

He is a pioneer of health and safety in sport, having designed and developed the hurling helmet and hurling glove.  He has numerous international medical publications on this subject.

He has volunteered all his life in the community and is deeply involved in Gaelic games.  He is the president of UCC hurling club.

Carol O’Mahony

Originally from Derry, Carol brings extensive experience from both the healthcare and hospitality sectors. She previously served as the practice manager of a large medical centre in Derry City before transitioning to the hospitality industry, where she worked as a front office manager for a hotel in Cork Carol excels in customer service, tand ask management, and has a strong eye for detail. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, supporting her son in Gaelic games and rugby.

Louisa Khalfi

Louisa Khalfi Louisa is a warm and dedicated professional with over 15 years of experience in customer-focused and administrative roles. She is known for her excellent interpersonal, and communication skills, and excels in maintaining records and handling confidential queries with care and professionalism.

As a member of the Salutem team, Louisa continues to demonstrate her commitment to providing high-quality service and support to patients. She has a proven track record of supporting families and patients empathetically while maintaining a high quality of service.

In her spare time, Louisa enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, embracing the beauty of nature, and sea swimming all year round.
